Mapping Voter Connections
Everything you need to launch your campaign
Every campaign launches with a website.
However, the last thing a campaign wants is to be locked into a long-term and expensive contract for one, especially when early fundraising can be difficult.
We can provide you with a WordPress site, complete with a Divi and WPForms Pro license. You’ll have compete access to your own account and can keep it running for however long you need. If you are part of a community or mutual aid group, we’ll set you up for free.
Need help designing your site? We can get you in touch with web designers who will create a template just for your campaign.

Petitions are an important part of getting on the ballot
Many states require a petition to get a candidate, or an initiative, on the ballot. In many cases, passing your petitions is your first point of contact with voters and a great chance to introduce your campaign to the people in your community.
We built our flagship product, Petition Atlas, to help you keep track of your progress, check your signers against your voter file, and download reports on who has signed. If you are in a state where you may want to challenge the petitions of an opponent, Petition Atlas will let you check theirs as well.
Once you have uploaded your petition sheets, your volunteers can validate the data from anywhere.

Every campaign, and every field plan, is unique.
It’s not just enough to look up how many people have voted in past elections and settle on a win number. You need to break down your community by analyzing voter history, voter density, and how and where people tend to vote.
We can sit down with you and your voter data and put together a plan to help you efficiently reach the most likely voters. We will help you set petition goals, figure out targets for knocking, phone, and postcards, and determine what walk lit you will need when.
We can also get creative – in Chicago, where block parties rule the summer, we put together a list of every block party in the city. As a result, our candidates could make sure their volunteers were there talking to voters and passing out lit.

Make a great first impression with your printed materials.
There are certain things you know your campaign will need. But how many? And when? From where? The answer to many of these questions will start with your field plan – the number of doors you plan on knocking will determine the number of walk pieces you need, for example. Likewise, if you want to include branded postcards as part of your campaign, you will need to order those as well.
If you don’t yet have a designer for your printed materials, we can put you in touch with folks we work with. If your not sure where to get materials printed, we can recommend union-owned shops.
Erehwon Atlas is a woman-owned business, and as such, we always prioritize women and minority-owned businesses when we look for vendors.

Send your volunteers out to knock doors with walk sheets
Walk sheets are a staple of any campaign – those lists that direct volunteers to the houses of voters. Knocking on doors, and the conversations that follow, are the essential part of any field plan. And when gathering petition signatures, it’s always a good idea to use walk sheets to send your volunteers to areas that are easy to knock and have plenty of registered voters.
Voter Atlas allows you to build walk lists based on location and voter criteria. We designed our interface to keep this process simple and effective.

Reach your voters on the phone and keep track of those conversations
Phone Atlas, which is currently in beta testing, will allow you to build your phone banks with customizable parts.
Write your questions, gather those questions together in scripts. Narrow down your target voters with lists, and then send those lists to your volunteers.
Use phone banks to reach out to your community for persuasion campaigns, GOTV, or connecting people with mutual aid opportunities.

Postcarding and mail lists made easy
Peer-to-peer mail, such as postcards, can have a tangible impact on elections.
Our Mail Atlas will allow you to build a targeted mail list and share that list with your volunteers, along with your instructions for the mail campaign.
You can also keep track of who has requested addresses so that you can follow up with your volunteers.

Create a mobile app for your campaign
Everyone is on their phones – your campaign should be there too.
There are multiple options for mobile applications that can help your campaign stay organized and reach volunteers and other members of your community.
We can help you develop and deploy low-code mobile solutions that fit every progressive need and budget. For example, you can build a quick application that will make call time run more efficiently for your candidate. Or we have designed and deployed progressive web applications to help mutual aid groups reach people during COVID-19.
You don’t need to employ a coder, or pay a lot of money, to use mobile technology on your campaign.

FAQ
You can get voter data from many places, including third-party vendors such as VANS and L2. However, we know that there are a lot of expenses that come with getting data this way.
As a political campaign or PAC, you have the ability to FOIA your data from your local Board of Elections. We have a lot of experience helping small progressive campaigns navigate this process, and we are happy to help you as well. Our upload process will allow you to upload and map your data quickly from any source.
Nothing. You upload your voter data, you collect the results of your petition checking or your phone banks. And when you are done with your campaign, we delete everything. We will never share any data, including raw voter data, with another campaign or a political party.
Unfortunately, we are field consultants and not lawyers. And we believe very strongly that all candidates should have an election lawyer in their state to help them with that process. We have seen too many progressive candidates miss the ballot because their paperwork was challenged.
We do, however, have a lot of research we have done into ballot qualifications in each state, and we are happy to share that research with you to point you in the right direction.
Absolutely. The same tricks and tools of political campaigns apply to any group or organization trying to do community organizing. We saw groups use phone banks and texting to reach out to people during COVID-19, and we know that some community groups are better at GOTV than campaigns are. If you reach out to us directly, we can offer your mutual aid program our technology tools for free.
All elected positions are important – especially in small towns. We believe that the progressive message can have meaning everywhere, and we should be fighting for every elected position.
So yes, we think our tools can give you a particular advantage in your race. But we also understand that your campaign may have its unique challenges, including fundraising. If you are running for a race with less than 5,000 voters, we will be happy to work with you on pricing options.
The Erehwon Atlas family contains folks who are LGBTQIA+, disabled, veterans, women, and non-white. We got into this line of work to promote the voices of candidates who don’t regularly make the ballot. We don’t get involved in campaign policy positions. But we will not work with candidates or campaigns who engage in harmful actions towards disenfranchised communities.
